The Thorogood The Deuce Composite Toe Waterproof Side-Zip Uniform Boot is a men's duty boot that's great for first responders.
If you want an EMT boot, this definitely is a good option. The boot is bloodborne pathogen resistant. It's also a waterproof boot with the Thoro>dri™ WATERPROOF system.
As a non-metallic shoe, it's good for workplaces where exposed metal is not permitted. If you're in law enforcement or security, you likely spend time around metal detectors "” at the courthouse, jail or other facilities. With that in mind, this footwear won't set off metal detectors!
The composite toe boot protects your toes from compression and impacts. It also has electrical hazard resistance. The footwear complies with ASTM requirements for both details.
To help you get into your boot and out the door quickly, this one has a heavy-duty YKK side zipper. The duty boot is made of leather and mesh. Cement construction attaches the outsole to the upper for flexibility.
This is a five-inch boot, the height of a hiking boot and just one inch shorter than the standard work boot. Having sure footing is important with a duty boot. This one has a slip-resistant rubber/EVA outsole.
For comfort during hours of standing and walking, the boot has a removable dual-density polyurethane Shock Zone footbed with air flow vents. It's comfortable with two layers and a design that absorbs impact. The air flow vents help circulate air to fight sweat. Another fight-sweating features is the moisture-wicking lining. A composite shank gives you arch support.
