Lehigh Safety Shoe Co. has been providing protective toe safety shoes since the early 1920's initially under the name of Lehigh Rubber and Leather Company.
There have been many upgrades in technology over time allowing for better safety shoes. One of the key comfort features Lehigh has been utilizing in a number of styles including our strong selling Lehigh steel toe stock # 5142 boat style work shoe over the last ten years has been lightweight polyurethane outsoles.
Polyurethane outsole material not only helps make lighter weight steel toe work boots, but also gives to help take some of the stress and strain away from the wearer's feet and body.
Adding to the Lehigh stock # 5142 work oxford comfort package is its soft tumbled upper leather. The tumbling process performed by the leather tannery helps break-up and soften the leather lessening the break-in for the wearer.
In addition to meeting the highest ASTM F2413-05 Impact & Compression standards, Lehigh stock # 5142 work oxford also complies with its Electrical Hazard standards. This type of work oxford is made with insulating bottoms providing secondary electrical hazard protection to those areas dealing with open circuits under dry conditions, but also can be worn in work areas requiring only basic protective toe work oxfords.

Protective Toe
Impact testing determines the amount of protection to the toe under various foot pounds of force. Compression testing determines the amount of static pressure a steel/composite toe cap can withstand. Our boots are I75/C75
Electrical Hazard
Footwear is built with nail-free construction to help insulate you from the ground to slow down conduction, but is not intended to be primary protection against electric shock. Leather footwear must be dry. Our electrical hazard boots meet and exceed ASTM electrical hazard standards. -
